01. Tillie Tuesday Dec. 1, 2020

It’s just another Tillie Tuesday,

I wish it were a snooze day,

But it’s a news day,

And just another Tillie Tuesday...

After spending so much time with Tillie the last two weeks I do have a few stories...

I read the first Advent devotion with Tillie (“Simply Hope”) and I stopped to ask her if she knew what “hope” meant. She gave me a pretty good answer so later I asked her to repeat what she said to Jeanne. The second time around her answer was much different. She said, “Hope is when everybody is scared and then the Superheroes show up.”

Last night she was choosing a few delay tactics when it was time to go to bed. With the lights out she asked, “So, father, what do you think about rainbows? Probably a hundred.” (As a point of reference, when we talk about how much we love each other we talk in exponential variants of Gazillions).

When that one didn’t delay enough she asked me how old my grandmother was when I was adopted. (Yes, that would take some time if I addressed it). I said I didn’t know. She replied, “Then you need a lot more practice with the ages of your family.”

We drove through a cemetery and Tillie asked me, “Why did God plant so many people he loves in this garden?”

After the Viking’s improbable come from behind win Tillie said, “The blue team’s (Panthers) fans must be saying, ‘What just happened?’” When I said she had that right she said, “Well, you know I can read minds, right? Even from a long way away?” The problem is I kind of believed her.
