07. Tillie Tuesday Jan. 19, 2021

It’s Tillie Tuesday!

Tillie on exhaustion:

My legs are very tired. Some of them have already fallen asleep.

Tillie, a prayer for the Chinese:

Chinese, I love you. Oh, sorry about that. Chinese, Wǒ ài nǐ. How’s it going in your world? It’s going pretty good in mine. Wǒ ài nǐ. Amen.

Tillie, on cultivating her sanctuary:

After accidentally spilling staples out of the box and then putting them back: “I just love looking at my organization.”

Tillie, on face making:

Tillie: Did you see my “I’m so cold” pouty face? This is my “Can I please get something” pouty face. Do you want to see my silly pouty face?

Me: Yes.

Tillie: (after a few attempts) I’m still working on that one.

Tillie, asking the question every preacher’s kid asks as their family prepares for a church event:

“How is this so important again?”

Tillie, when I have taken the remote:

Daddy! You can’t do it to me! I’m innocent! I’m your sweet little daughter! I’m just a child!

Tillie, on bedtime:

I want to go to sleep I just haven’t felt the spirit of going to sleep. I’m waiting to feel the spirit.

And, finally, Philosopher Tillie:

Me: (reading from the Love book on adoption day)

“Love is when we take the time to stop and smell the flowers.”

Tillie: “We are the flowers.”
