23. Tillie Tuesday May 18, 2021
It’s just another Tillie Tuesday,
I wish it were a snooze day,
But it’s my news day,
And just another Tillie Tuesday.
Tillie Tuesday, the Mommy’s on a Trip Edition
Tillie, on Daddy brushing her hair:
“Are you trying to make me bald?”
Tillie, on lions:
Tillie: Daddy, let’s see who can roar the quietest. You go first.
Me: (“Roars” in a whisper)
Tillie: My turn. (Roars in my ear at the top of her lungs). I lose.
Tillie, assessing the situation:
“Was your plan a disaster, Daddy?”
Tillie, on resistance:
“If you need me I’m going to be sticking my foot on the wall.”
Tillie, on weekend plans:
“We could take the dogs for a walk, maybe on the trails, we could go to the green park, do a little yada yada... Can you believe I said ‘yada yada’?”
Tillie, on telling about her school day:
(What she’s saying sounds not quite right)
Me: Are you making up a story?
Tillie: No. It’s imagination.
Tillie, on our restaurant experience:
Me: You’ll like it. We eat here all the time.
Tillie: Are you saying that we never eat anywhere else, not even at our house?
Me: Great. They didn’t give us any napkins.
Tillie: I know when you say great like that then things are not so great.
Tillie: Is that raw tuna? Is that kind of the point of sushi? That it’s raw fish? Isn’t raw supposed to be bad for you? Can I have more, please, Daddy?
Tillie: (perfectly using her child chopsticks) I guess chopsticks aren’t really stupid. Right, Daddy?
And, finally,
Tillie, counting the days:
“How many more days until Mommy returns? Three? It will be three, then two, then one, then Boom!” (Today is the Boom day. Yay!)
