21. Tillie Tuesday May 4, 2021
It’s just another Tillie Tuesday,
I wish it were a snooze day,
But it’s my news day,
And just another Tillie Tuesday.
Tillie, committed to her sulk:
“You just want me to have fun. It’s not going to work!”
Tillie, all in on augmented reality:
When I was gone for a few days we still had family time by playing Pokémon Go together. When I got home Tillie said:
“Did you miss me? Did you want to jump into the game so you could hug me?”
Tillie, back seat commentator on the way to school:
“This is the same trout my bus takes to school.”
Tillie and the Cinderella story:
I was helping Tillie get her shoes on as we were running late and the bus was going to arrive soon.
Tillie: Let’s pretend that I already have one glass slipper on.
Me: Oh my, can it be? These slippers look identical!
Tillie: Just try it.
Me: Is it possible you are the same beautiful girl I danced with last night? The one that enlightened me with her thoughts on geometry, and the history of our country, and solutions to the socio-economic challenges that we face?
Tillie: No, I’m just the same shoe size as her.
Tillie, on a mission:
Tillie: Daddy, I need to change my clothes.
Me: Why do you need to change your clothes?
Tillie: Because they are soaking, wringing wet.
Me: Why are they soaking, wringing wet?
Tillie: Because I was saving a worm’s life.
Me: Okay. As long as there’s a good reason.
Tillie, when I asked her to explain her drawing:
“Those are fireworks with the sister butterfly and a flower plant. And I’m trying to work here. So...”
And, finally...
Tillie, smelling the pages of her new book:
“Perfect.”
