I wish it were a snooze day,

But it’s my news day,

“When you get to Heaven will you be a kid or will you still be very old?”

Tillie came up from her bedroom and wanted to talk so she could get rid of the nightmare she had about a witch with sharp teeth.

This was the topic she chose:

“How do they milk the fangs of a poisonous snake and how did they figure out to do that the first time?”

Tillie, when I tell her to go back to bed

“I can’t sleep. I wasn’t programmed to sleep.”

Tillie, on the effects of headlights when driving at night

“It looks like the shadows are drying up.”

Tillie, on the delicious aroma of the gourmet meal that Jeanne is making

“Mother, what is that delicious smell that smells like fish sticks?”

Tillie, on life goals born from anger

“I’m never going to do anything for the rest of my life!”

Me: Tillie, would you like more French toast?

Tillie: I could go for another round.

I made or rather failed at making a batch of congee. Tillie ate four bites and then said, “I don’t mean to be rude but this tastes terrible.”

So I tried it. I could only stomach one bite.

Tillie said, “Let’s get Mommy because maybe she’ll like it. Remember, people have different tastes. She likes tofu, you know.”
