17. Tillie Tuesday March 30, 2021
It’s just another Tillie Tuesday,
I wish it were a snooze day,
But it’s my news day,
And just another Tillie Tuesday.
Tillie, the Spring Break Edition
Tillie, explaining the book she’s about to read:
Tillie: The book is called “Little Bug.” Don’t worry. It’s not about evil bugs like mosquitoes.
Tillie, coloring with our friend, Chinda:
Tillie: Where’s my pink marker?
Chinda: The hot pink?
Tillie: (First time she’s heard that term.) Yes, the hot pink.
(Tillie colors for a bit then shows her drawing to Chinda)
Tillie: See how hot it is?
Tillie, disputing teenage logic:
Tillie watched “Yes Day” with us. In the movie, the fourteen year old tells her mother that her mother is only angry because the girl doesn’t need her mother any more.
Tillie said, “She’s wrong you know.”
(Jeanne and I get the warm fuzzies because Tillie understands the importance of needing her mother.)
Jeanne: How so?
Tillie: She does need her mom because she’s not old enough to get a driver’s license and she needs rides.
Tillie, wearing a light jacket on a nice morning:
Me: Is it warm enough?
Tillie looked at me, shrugged her shoulders, and said, “It’s warm enough for the birds.”
Tillie, getting paper plates as she was asked:
Tillie: (gets the plates and then sings) “This girl is on fire!”
And, finally...
Tillie, answering what she would like for her birthday this year:
Tillie: “I would like to be queen of the worrrrlllddd!”
